Time to do what I call a "color chip" painting. Making up the pattern as I go!
It’s fun to see how these turn out especially this time because I’m creating the pattern as I go. It was time to lay them together on the floor to see better what is taking shape. They will be 72x96 once done. Lot’s of patience needed! ;-)
Just got this one back from being stretched. It's a big one, 70x70.
Lighting isn’t great on the bottom right corner as it’s not installed yet, but still fun to finally get it back!
Color and texture, two of my favorite things!
It will be fun to see how this one dries, 30x40. Lots of color and texture. Seems I’m getting spring fever!
This one was fun to do. I always love when my paintings surprise me! It's a larger one, 52x60.
This one has LOTS of texture. It’s actually really peaceful feeling. Must be the over-all uniformity that is calming to me. It just makes me feel good for some reason. Maybe it’s the happy nautical colors on a cold whiter day when I painted it?
Not sure what's happening here! ;-)
This one went around and around! It ended up as ducks and a whale, and this from a girl who doesn’t drink…not sure where my head was! lol But sometimes you need to just not think and let it all go! ;-)
Oh how I love texture! Had fun playing with black and gold on this one!
Working a bit smaller than usual, 36x36. Not sure I always know what to do on these small ones, but it’s fun trying to figure it out.
It's starting to feel like spring!
I’d like to wear this one as a scarf! ;-) it’s 36x36.
I'm honored to have been named one of DESTIG Magazines Top Emerging Artists for 2019!
Thank you to DESTIG Magazine for selecting me as one of their top emerging artists for 2019! It’s a lofty title and I’m extremely humbled and grateful for such nice recognition. DESTIG is an international fine arts magazine based in London and has readership in 80 countries. Here is a photo of the cover of the magazine and the first two pages of my article. I’ve included the link, once you get to it, go to page 180 to check out what a great job they did! It might have been a long harsh winter here in the north, but this really warmed my artists heart! It’s always rewarding to know that your art is reaching those who connect and enjoy it. CHEERS! https://issuu.com/destig/docs/destig_issue_5?e=33357966/68108001
Time to get back to work! Hope you had a nice winter! Onward we go into spring! Cheers!
Something colorful seems to be in order! I’ll take a better look at it tomorrow once it dries. It sure is bright in person! Seems I never shy away from color, some things don’t change! :-)
Have a Happy Holiday Season! Thank you for your support and interest in my art! Time to take a break!
Thank you for all your kind support of my art! It is so much appreciated! I’m off to take a much needed break and will return sometime in February/March, so in the meantime, have a very Happy New Year and stay warm too if you live in a cold climate such as mine! Here’s to all the wonderful possibilities of the coming new year! Cheers!!
So many options on how to hang this one! Glad to have help!
Two panels of fun this one was! 72 x 96. Fun to look at it from several angels. Fun to learn new things too, best part of my job! This one can be vertical or horizontal and since it’s two panels it can be placed together in numerous ways. Decided to start with it in this configuration. Cheers!
Tuesday's Experiment…. Was going to paint birch trees but the paint had other plans!
Actually that happens a LOT! I don’t force my brain to paint something, as thats not how my brain works. My creativity and my brain work better when given free reign. Eventually a birch may arise but in the meantime, what a fun adventure!
