I love having my studio next door to my scanners! So lucky!!
Time to get these two scanned! So easy to just walk them next door to Arts District Image Works!

It's always amusing to me that if I have a painting laying close to where I work, they all magically morph into each other! Seems today all is coming up roses!
One of the best parts of my job is meeting such wonderful clients who love art as much as I do! I'm so grateful to be able to share my art with others and I hope they will enjoy it for years to come. Thank you and cheers!!
Maybe it's time to create a new category on my website for these fellows. Think I'll do some more and then give them a fun name...they kind of remind me of shadow dancers. Not sure what a shadow dancer is, but I think that's what I'll call this catagory of painting. I love the complexity of them. Another fun fact about them, they create a secondary, what I'll call a "byproduct" painting with the paint I save from scrapping it off as I create the first painting. The blog below is what was created from the scrapings from this one.
I love doing these kinds of paintings. Every so often I get into a pattern of scrapping off a LOT of extra paint. Instead of tossing it, I'll collect it and use it on a new canvas. They are magical to me as it's always a surprise how they turn out.
Since back to work from vacation, I've slid into a method of painting of letting the paint stain the canvas, then covering it with more paint, then scraping off to show whats underneath. It's a process of "balanced" elimination. Here I'm playing with my favorite color red, where the others below are more of the fall colors. The more I play with this method, the more curious I get and the more I want to explore it! It has me enthralled! The canvas almost looks like fabric where I've scraped off the top layer. It's very soft which is so unlike my past style. I need to get some large canvases and really go to town with these! Cheers!
